AH Challenge: The Best They Could Do, Poland May 1935
Could they have done it? How long would it have taken? Alternate History Miscellaneous Challenges
Could you do better than the Japanese leadership? POD is an amateur press magazine and also a forum for discussing AH and AH-related ideas. A lot of the comments don't make sense unless you've following the dialogue. Here are some of my general-interest ones. |
Panama Canal effort fails. What are the consequences? Or alternatively, what if the French effort had succeeded, opening a French-run canal in the mid-1890s? How Bad Could It Have Gotten? I got to thinking about an Edgar Rice Burroughs book called Beyond Sixty. It was written during the worst of World War I, and had Europe tearing itself apart to the point where it reverted to the Stone Age. Obviously a tad exaggerated, but how badly could Europe have actually torn itself up? What’s the worst that could have happened? German SA leaders learn about the upcoming Night of the Long Knifes and attempt a preemptive strike? Paul von Hindenburg dies before the 1931 German presidential election Who gets elected in his place and how do they relate to Hitler? Do the Nazis seize power? Where does history go from there? Petain dies before the collapse of France in May/June 1940. Who takes on his role, and how does that impact the development of Vichy France (assuming that Vichy still gets established).
